WIPO Promotes IP & Filing for Franchise Expansion at TFBO 2026

The WIPO Singapore Office (WSO), led by Director Ms. Thitapha Wattanapruttipaisan, participated in the Thailand Franchise Business Opportunity Expo (TFBO) 2026, highlighting how intellectual property (IP) and international filing can drive franchise growth and cross-border expansion.

With Thailand’s franchise industry thriving from innovative food concepts to home-grown service brands, Thai franchisors are building businesses with strong international potential.

Reinforcing a message shared by Thailand’s Department of Intellectual Property (DIP), “Your brand is the backbone of your business. Protect it where your business grows.”, WIPO emphasized the importance of securing IP rights in tandem with business expansion, highlighting how international filing systems and strategic brand management have enabled Thai enterprises to scale confidently into global markets.

Through the WIPO’s seminar, WSO showcased practical tools such as the ASEAN IP Register for competitive landscape searches as well as the Madrid System which enables businesses to secure trademark protection efficiently across multiple markets, thereby supporting faster and more cost-effective internationalization.

Mr. Porsche Jarumon, Acting Industrial Property Expert and Head of the Intellectual Property Knowledge and Advisory Centre, DIP, Thailand and Mr. Ittikorn Thepmani, Co-Founder of Orgafeed, also delivered an engaging panel sharing on JAIKla’s (a Orgafeed’s brand) IP journey, highlighting how the brand has successfully pivoted and rebranded by leveraging strategic IP management to strengthen its market positioning and support business transformation.
