Clarivate launches WIPO-commissioned study on ASEAN Food & Beverage IP Trends. The report offers the first consolidated, data‑driven overview of intellectual property (IP) activities in the dynamic ASEAN food and beverage sector, providing valuable insights into the innovation and brand landscape in five markets (namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand) in the region.
This launch aligns with WIPO’s continuing efforts to strengthen the use of evidence‑based IP intelligence and the use of ASEAN IP Register as a central resource for enterprises, researchers, government agencies, and business enablers to access ASEAN IP data.
Delivering New Regional Insights into Innovation and Branding Patterns
The Clarivate study maps filing behaviour across patents and trademarks, and identifies competitive shifts within ASEAN’s fast‑growing food and beverage ecosystem. The findings highlight activity in areas such as sustainability, food safety, processing innovation, agricultural inputs, and the rise of functional and nutraceutical products.
These insights could support ASEAN IP Offices, policymakers, ecosystem partners and enterprises in making informed decisions on developing innovation strategies, designing support programs, and monitoring regional competitiveness.
ASEAN IP Register as a central source for ASEAN IP Data
With the study’s findings, workshops, briefings, and enterprise engagement sessions were held across ASEAN to demonstrate how high‑quality IP data is essential for informed business decision‑making. The ASEAN IP Register was introduced as a one consolidated source for accessing the ASEAN’s IP data, simplifying how users extract insights for market intelligence, competitive analysis, brand strategy, and innovation planning.
As highlighted in WIPO Singapore’s earlier news release, ASEAN IP Register Being Leveraged for Strategic Decisions by Enterprises and Business Enablers, companies across the region are increasingly relying on the ASEAN IP Register to guide commercial decisions, assess competitors, and identify new opportunities.
