Solange Cesarovna

A visionary in institutional leadership, Solange Cesarovnarevolutionized the copyright sector in Cabo Verde by co-founding the Cabo Verde Music Society (SCM) in 2013. As its inaugural President, she spearheaded SCM’s development and secured its affiliation with the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC), transforming creators' rights protection in the country over a decade.

Currently, she projects her leadership on a global scale as Vice President of the African Music Academy (AMA), Vice President of

the International Council of Music Creators (CIAM), and the first WIPO CLIP Champion for the World Intellectual Property Organization. Her trajectory is celebrated by international honors such as the Exceptional Achievement Prize, inclusion in the BANTUMEN Powerlist 100 as one of Lusophone Africa’s 100 most influential personalities, being the first honoree of the Brazilian Music Professionals Awards (PPM), and winner of the PPM 2025 PALOP Award.

Possessing a precious voice that is both sweet and powerful, and acclaimed as the “21st Century Queen of Morna”, Solange Cesarovna is a celebrated singer-songwriter and one of the most influential figures in contemporary music and the creative economy. As the first Cabo Verdean artist to perform at the Vatican, she blends ancestral heritage with sound innovation and is preparing to release a conceptual album celebrating the transatlantic connection between Africa and Brazil.
