Launched in 2025, the WIPO ICT Leadership Dialogue (WILD) serves as a premier global forum dedicated to the executive leaders and Chief Information Officers (CIOs) of Intellectual Property (IP) offices. As the digital landscape evolves, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has become central to the operational success of the IP community. WILD provides a strategic platform to address the challenges of digital transformation, modernize IP administration, and enhance global service delivery.
WILD facilitates strategic discussions on the pivotal role of ICT in IP business and service delivery. By focusing on emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity, and advanced data management, the forum enables IP offices to co-create solutions for modernizing IP operations. It acts as a venue for collective problem-solving, promoting inter-office partnerships and the development of shared best practices.

How it works
Convening annually, WILD is open to all WIPO Member States on a voluntary basis. The Dialogue is designed to be candid and action-oriented, aiming to establish frameworks that enhance digital capabilities across the IP ecosystem.
Any recommendations or proposals resulting from WILD sessions are non-binding and implemented on a voluntary basis, allowing IP offices to adopt solutions that best fit their national or regional contexts.
To maintain agility, WILD may establish or dissolve Focus Groups which tackle specific tasks and identify solutions for common technical challenges. These Groups report to the plenary sessions on key issues and their activities. Leading industry experts may be invited to these Groups to provide insights on technological trends impacting IP operations.
Focus groups
At its first session, the WILD established two Groups to address specific technical challenge: the CIO Network and the AI Tool Collaboration Group.
CIO Network
This is a network of Chief Information Officers and Chief Technology Officers from IP Offices worldwide. It provides a platform for peer-to-peer exchange, strategic dialogue on ICT leadership challenges, and coordination on digital transformation initiatives among senior technology executives in the IP community.
AI Tool Collaboration Group
This Group brings together AI experts and/or product owners of IP offices to collaborate on the development, evaluation and implementation of AI-powered tools for IP administration. The Group facilitates knowledge exchange, coordinates pilot projects, and supports the sharing of AI solutions to reduce duplication of effort and accelerate technology adoption across the global IP community.
If you wish to join these Focus Groups, please contact the Secretariat.
Meetings and documents
The WILD meets annually and relevant meeting documents can be found on the dedicated meeting page.
