Patent and Utility Model Documents Forming Part of the Minimum Documentation

Amended PCT Rule 34.1(e) adopted by the Assembly of the International Patent Cooperation Union (PCT Union) at its fifty-fifth (24th Ordinary) session with effect from 1 January 2026 requires the International Bureau (IB) to validate the availability of the patent and utility model documents notified in accordance with PCT Rule 34.1(d). 
So far, the IB has received notifications from 34 Offices and validated the availability of their documents. Consequently, with effect from 1 January 2026, patent and utility model documents from Offices listed below that were published after 1 January 1920 will form part of the minimum documentation.

Details of patent and utility model documents that have been made available in accordance with requirements in the PCT Administrative Instructions have been published in the Official Notices (PCT Gazette) on 23 October 2025 and 30 October 2025.
