Ethiopia Joins Paris Convention
On 15 May 2025, the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (country code: ET) deposited its instrument of accession to the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property, thus bringing the total number of States party to that Convention to 181. The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia will become bound by the Paris Convention on 15 August 2025. It is recalled that under PCT Rule 4.10(a), it is possible to claim in an international application the priority of one or more earlier applications filed in, or for, any country party to the Paris Convention or in, or for, any member of the World Trade Organization (WTO) that is not party to that Convention.
