eMadrid (Beta): New Features and Next Steps

It’s two months since we released the new eMadrid (beta) experience – a major upgrade in how trademark owners and practitioners file, manage and monitor international trademark registrations through the Madrid System.

Strong adoption

Users from over 130 countries have explored the new eMadrid (beta), with almost 20% of active international trademark registrations now being managed through the platform, including approximately 76% of the largest portfolios.

New since launch

Fueled by the valuable feedback and input that users have already provided, we have been fine-tuning and enhancing various features of the new eMadrid. You can now:

  • Download your certificates from the “Certified documents” tab on the details page of any international trademark registration in your workbench.
  • Access your pending international trademark applications and download irregularity letters (PDF format) under the “Transactions” tab of your workbench.
  • Quickly check your latest transactions – most recent transactions now display first.

Coming next? French and Spanish interfaces, to ensure that eMadrid (beta) is accessible to an even wider global user base.

IMPORTANT: The new eMadrid (beta) will become the default environment for managing international trademark registration transactions in September.

Phasing out Madrid Portfolio Manager

As part of the new eMadrid transition, we are phasing out Madrid Portfolio Manager. Access to registration and renewal certificates has already been disabled. You can now find these documents under the “Certified documents” tab in your eMadrid (beta) workbench.

Any final feedback?

If you have any more feedback on the new eMadrid (beta) to share with us, we’d love to hear from you. Reach out to us through “Contact us” in the (beta) “Help” menu.
