IAP: Colombia
Income eligibility criteria:
- Inventors with fixed or variable monthly income not exceeding four legal monthly minimum wages (SMLMV) in accordance with Law 789 of 2002.
- Micro and small enterprises as established in Decree 957 of June 5, 2019.
Invention eligibility criteria:
- The invention is not subject to any of the exclusions or exceptions to patentability under Articles 15 and 20 of Decision 486 of 2000 of the Andean Community.
- Absence of prior art related to the invention.
- The invention can be used in industry within the next 10 years.
Documentation required to demonstrate eligibility:
- Most recent payroll slip (if employed), income certificate or tax return (if self-employed), or signed affidavit or sworn statement of lack of financial means (if unemployed).
- Income tax return or income certificate (for enterprises).
- Description of your invention, including technical characteristics, problem solved, differences from existing similar inventions, and market potential.
- Document with the graphical representation of the invention (drawings, sketches, or photos in a single PDF file).
- Authorization letter signed by all co-inventors or other parties (if the invention was developed jointly with others).
- Confidentiality agreement (must be signed by all parties if jointly developed).
