The capacity development program brought together a total of 45 participants from ten ASEAN countries (Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Viet Nam), including IP offices from Bangladesh, Mongolia, Papua New Guinea, and Sri Lanka, as well as representatives from the ASEAN Secretariat.
The program focused on the current status of digitization and challenges faced by IP offices, as well as the development progress and future directions of WIPO IP office systems, including IPAS Cloud, WIPO Publish, WIPO CASE, and WIPO DAS. Participating offices advanced concrete collaboration through focused technical exchanges, bilateral engagements, and alignment on priority initiatives, including IPAS Cloud adoption, digitization projects, data exchange.
The program also provided an important platform for IP offices to share their experiences, lessons learned, and progress in improving services through digitization initiatives, while also advancing regional dialogue on digitization, cloud-based IP systems, data exchange, and the emerging use of AI in IP administration.
