In celebration of World Intellectual Property Day 2026, which is themed “IP and Sports: Ready, Set, Innovate”, WIPO is organizing a webinar series for Arab countries highlighting the role of intellectual property (IP) in supporting innovation, commercialization, and economic development within sports in the region. Each webinar will address a specific theme linked to IP and sports and will feature noteworthy speakers from IP experts to sports entrepreneurs and Olympic athletes. The webinars will be held in Arabic with English interpretation.
The kick-off webinar
The first webinar in the series will take place on April 21, 2026 at 11 am CEST via Zoom, addressing the topic of “IP as a Strategic Lever for Economic Development in the Arab Region”. Participants will be able to engage in an interactive discussion with the speaker, Ms. Eman Ibrahim, Officer-in-Charge of IP Operations at Egyptian Intellectual Property Authority during the webinar.
