The WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center Singapore Office was established in May 2010.

The WIPO Center’s Singapore Office manages disputes under the WIPO Rules involving Parties from the region and facilitates case communications and hearings. The WIPO Center’s Singapore Office also offers procedural dispute resolution guidance in choosing or adjusting dispute resolution clauses. Some case examples may be found here.

The WIPO Center’s Singapore Office also organizes training and outreach on ADR of IP and technology-related disputes.

Cooperation

The Center’s Singapore Office works with partners based in Singapore and the region to raise awareness of the advantages of ADR methods to prevent and resolve intellectual property and technology disputes.

The WIPO Center collaborates with the Ministry of Law in the promotion of the use of ADR options for intellectual property disputes in Singapore.

The Ministry of Law has designated the WIPO Center as mediation service provider in Singapore.

The WIPO Center administers mediation proceedings concerning intellectual property disputes in Singapore.

The WIPO Center has developed a mediation option for trademark, patent, industrial design and geographical indications proceedings and an expert determination option for patent proceedings pending before IPOS and administers such proceedings.

The WIPO Center collaborates with IPOS and the Copyright Tribunal in the promotion of the use of ADR options for copyright disputes in Singapore.

The WIPO Singapore Office and IPOS jointly support access to WIPO Mediation through the WIPO-ASEAN Mediation Programme (AMP+), which provides funding for eligible parties engaging in mediation and deal mediation in ASEAN.

The WIPO Center collaborates with IMDA in the promotion of the use of ADR options for disputes in the area of Film and Media and Entertainment.

The WIPO Center has developed in cooperation with IMDA the WIPO Mediation and Expedited Arbitration Rules for Film and Media, which have been specifically tailored to resolve disputes in the film and media sectors, as well as the special model contract clauses and submission agreements.
The WIPO Center collaborates with FLA in the promotion of the use of ADR options for disputes in the area of Franchising.
The WIPO Center collaborates with SFA in the promotion of the use of ADR options for disputes in the area of FinTech.
The WIPO Center collaborates with SIMC in the promotion of the use of ADR options for disputes in the area of IP and technology in Singapore.

The WIPO Center collaborates with SGTech in the promotion of the use of ADR options for disputes in the area of Information and Communication Technology.
The WIPO Center collaborates with TaFF in the promotion of the use of ADR options for disputes in the area of Fashion.
The WIPO Center collaborates with VICPA in the promotion of the use of mediation to resolve disputes in the creative sector.

The WIPO Center and VICPA jointly developed a low-cost mediation program for members of VICPA in IP and other commercial disputes. The WIPO Center administers such proceedings.
