WIPO’s terminology database of scientific, technical and legal terminology spanning 10 languages, WIPO Pearl, has been updated and now contains over 285,000 terms, all validated by WIPO-PCT language experts. In addition, over 31,000 unique concepts (or 90%) are linked to other concepts in the database, and the concept maps displayed in the Concept Map Search show how they relate to one another. You can use WIPO Pearl to help understand the meaning of scientific, technical and legal terms, to find accurate equivalents for terms in other languages, and for example to find with one click any patent in WIPO’s patent database PATENTSCOPE that contains one or more of the terms you’re interested in, in any language. There is also an API available for WIPO Pearl.
