The Eurasian Patent Office notified WIPO in accordance with paragraphs 10 and 12 of the Framework Provisions that came into effect on July 1, 2012, that it would extend its services to Industrial Designs both as depositing as well as an accessing Office of the WIPO Digital Access Service (DAS) for Priority Documents, with effect from December 1, 2021.

Technical and operational options adopted by EAPO are:

  • The EAPO as a depositing office will deposit certified copies of industrial design applications as priority documents filed at the EAPO on and after December 1, 2021, which the applicant specifically requests be made available to the service.
  • The EAPO as an accessing office will recognize priority documents available to it through the service for the purposes of any application for which the time for furnishing the priority document has not expired by December 1, 2021.
  • All documents and information will be exchanged in color, greyscale, black and white and in PDF or JPEG format through the WIPO DAS Office web portal;
  • As an accessing office, the EAPO will accept greyscale, black and white documents in PDF or JPEG format as deposited by the depositing office.

Practical information:

  • A request to the EAPO to make an application available through the service may be made by sending a letter clearly stating the relevant application number and indicating that it should be made available to WIPO DAS;
  • To request the EAPO as accessing office to retrieve the document from the service, the applicant should send a letter to the EAPO with the following information :
  • Filing number
  • Filing date
  • Country code
  • WIPO DAS code

The EAPO regional industrial design applications hosted in the library will have the number format EA YYYY4NNNN.

Date: November 1, 2017

The Eurasian Patent Office notified WIPO in accordance with paragraphs 10 and 12 of the Framework Provisions that came into effect on July 1, 2012, that it would commence operation both as a Participating and an Accessing Office of the WIPO Digital Access Service (DAS) with effect from November 1, 2017, with the following parameters:

  • EAPO as a depositing Office will deposit certified copies of patent applications as priority documents, including PCT applications filed at the Office on and after November 1,2017, which the applicant specifically requests be made available to the service.
  • EAPO as an accessing Office will recognize priority documents available to it through the service for the purposes of any application for which the time for furnishing the priority document has not expired by November 1, 2017.
  • All documents and information will be exchanged in color and in PDF format through the WIPO DAS Office web portal and based on WIPO PCT-EDI.
  • As an Accessing Office, the Office will accept color, greyscale, black and white documents in PDF format as deposited by depositing Office.

Practical information

  • To request the Office as Accessing Office to retrieve the document from the service, the applicant should check the relevant box next to the priority claim on the application form or send a letter to the Office.
  • The Office regional and international applications hosted in the library will have the respective number formats EA YYYYNNNNN and PCT/EAYYYY/NNNNNN.
