The State Patent Bureau of the Republic of Lithuania notified the International Bureau, in accordance with paragraphs 10 and 12 of the Framework Provisions of the Digital Access Service, that it would extend the scope of its operations as both a depositing and accessing Office in the WIPO DAS to include Industrial Design and Trademark priority documents, and as an Accessing Office only to Hague International applications, as of July 1, 2023.

The following practical information may be useful to applicants:

  • To request the Office to make an application available through the service may be made by sending a request clearly stating the relevant application number and indicating that is should be made available to the WIPO Digital Access Service, and paying a set fee;
  • To request the Office as an Accessing Office to retrieve the document from the service, the applicant should check the relevant box next to the priority claim on the electronic application form or send a request to the Office;
  • The national industrial designs applications hosted in their digital library use the respective number format LT YYYYNNN.
  • The national trademark applications hosted in their digital library use the respective number format LT YYYYNNNN.

The State Patent Bureau of the Republic of Lithuania notified the International Bureau in accordance with paragraphs 10 and 12 of the Framework Provisions for the WIPO Digital Access Service (DAS) that it would commence operation as both a Depositing Office and an Accessing Office of WIPO DAS with effect from January 1, 2023, in respect of patent priority documents.

Technical and operational options adopted by the Patent Office are:

As a Depositing Office, the State Patent Bureau will deposit certified copies of patent applications as priority documents filed at the Office on and after January 1, 2023, which the applicant specifically requests to be made available to the service.

As an Accessing Office, the State Patent Bureau will recognize priority documents available to it through the service for the purposes of any application for which the time for furnishing the priority document has not expired by January 1, 2023.

All documents and information will be exchanged in black and white or color and in PDF format through the DAS Office web portal and based on WIPO PCT-EDI.

As an Accessing Office, the office will color, greyscale black and white documents in PDF format as deposited by the depositing Office.
