The Commercial Code contains fundamental provisions on entrepreneurs, Czech-owned and foreign-owned businesses and the formation and structure of companies, partnerships and co-operatives. General commercial partnerships (unlimited partnerships), limited partnerships, limited liability companies, joint stock companies and co-operatives are all considered to be legal entities if formed and incorporated under Czech law.
The Code also includes detailed provisions on various types of contracts. Contracts which are not regulated by the Commercial Code are subject to the provisions of the Civil Code (See Preface).
