Notes:	The Constitution of the Republic of Belarus (Belarusian: Канстытуцыя Рэспублікі Беларусь, Russian: Конституция Республики Беларусь) was adopted in 1994. It has been amended twice since the original adoption, in 1996 and in 2004. These amendments increased the power of the presidency over the government and eliminated the term limits for the presidency. The Constitution guarantees protection of intellectual property rights. In particular, Article 51 refers to the freedom of artistic, scientific and technical creativity and guarantees protection of the intellectual property by law.
