The notification by Mongolia to the WTO under article 63.2 of TRIPS states:
'The Law forbids illegal use of trademarks, commercial names, labels of others, and distribution and sale of scientific technology, know-how, commercial and industrial secrecy without authorization of the author.'
The Law has been amended 4 times since its enactment in 1993. The most recent amendment was on May 12, 2000. In addition to the Mongolian Trademark Act, the Law provides the protection of well-known trademarks. It also sets forth criminal provisions for trademark violations.
