The Civil Code of the Russian Federation is divided into 4 parts, which were passed by the State Duma, approved by the Federation Council, and entered into force on different dates.
This consolidated version of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation incorporates all the amendments up to Federal Law No. 12-FZ of February 7, 2017, which entered into force on February 9, 2017.
For the amendments introduced by the said Federal Law No. 12-FZ, see the following provisions of Chapter 4, Part I of this consolidated Civil Code:
- § 1, Article 50; paragraph 3, 3) and 15); Article 65.1, paragraph 1;
- § 6, Article 123.1, paragraph 2; Article 123.8, paragraph 1; section 10 entitled 'Notary Chambers'.
The amendments made by the Federal Law No. 43-FZ of March 28, 2017 to the following provisions of Chapter 71, relating to copyright and related rights, under Section VII, Part Four of the Code, which have not yet been incorporated in this consolidated version:
- § 1, Article 1304, paragraph 1, 1);
- § 2, Article 1313; Article 1315, paragraph 1, 4); Article 1317, paragraph 2, 10); and Article 1318 paragraph 1,
These amendments come into force on January 1, 2018.
Part Four of this consolidated Code, which consists of 9 chapters (69-77) and 326 articles (1225-1551), contains specific provisions on intellectual property.
It codifies rules and principles governing intellectual property and provides legal regime for the protection of intellectual property rights.
Part One, Two and Three contain, inter alia, the following general provisions on intellectual property:
