The Civil Code of the Russian Federation contains four parts (Parts I,II III and IV).
Part IV of the Civil Code was adopted by the Federal Law No. 230-FZ of December 18, 2006. It codifies fundamental rules and principles of intellectual property law and for the first time has introduced provisions relating to databases protected by copyright.

This consolidated version of the Civil Code incorporates all the amendements up to 'Federal Law No. 35-FZ of March 12, 2014, on Amendments to the first, second and fourth parts of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation and Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation'.
