This Law, adopted by the Islamic Republic of Iran provides for the development plan of the country, which is valid for five years. Currently, the fifth edition of this Law will remain into force until March 21, 2015.
It contains provisions on intellectual property rights, including patents (Articles 16.f.8 and 17.f); trademarks (Articles 69, 102. Note 2, 150.c, etc.); trade names (Article 69); traditional cultural expressions (Article 11.e), competition (Articles 74, 80.b, 81.c, 101, etc.); transfer of technology (Articles 17.c, 150.a); and genetic resources (104.e.2).
