Year of Version 2012 Dates Adopted: July 1, 1979 Type of Text IP-related Laws Subject Matter Enforcement of IP and Related Laws, Other Notes The Criminal Procedure Law of China was adopted by the National People’s Congress (the 'NPC') in 1979. It was first extensively revised in 1996. On March 14, 2012, the NPC adopted the 2012 Amending Decision that makes up the second revision of the Criminal Procedure Law. This second substantial revision affects a large number of articles, and expands the Law from 225 articles to 290 articles.
The newly amended Criminal Procedure Law entered into force on January 1, 2013.
