Opening

The meeting will open on November 2, 2009, at 9 a.m. sharp. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided in English, Arabic and French.

Travel/Hotels

Foreign participants are kindly requested to take note of the following:

(a) Visa
All necessary arrangements for a visa for entry to Egypt must be made before departure. International participants travelling from abroad are invited to contact the Egyptian Embassy in their respective countries in order to apply for a visa as soon as possible.

The rate for a single room is US$ 130 and for a double room is US$ 140. International speakers and participants are strongly advised to stay in this hotel as this is in walking distance to the venue of the meeting.

Note for the Stakeholders of the platform: Hotel Shepheard will be the point of departure by bus to Alexandria on the evening of November 2, 2009.

Taxis

Taxis may be called by dialing 19155. There are taxis offices and agents at the Cairo International Airport.

A transfer from the airport to the Hotel Shepheard takes an average of 45-60 minutes, depending on the traffic.
The cost of a transfer by taxi is approximately 60 to 80 Egyptian Pounds; and by limousine is approximately 100 to 120 Egyptian Pounds.

Speakers and participants are free to arrange their own transfer from and to the airport.
