Accessibility

The World Intellectual Property Organization is committed to ensuring the accessibility of its web site and services to all users, in accordance with Article 9(g) of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and in support of that Convention.

WIPO strives to attain an accessible site based on the World Wide Web Consortium's Web Accessibility Initiative's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.

Creation of accessible new pages and retrofitting of older parts of the site is an ongoing process and part of the daily site maintenance. A large part of the documentation is published in MS-Word and PDF file formats. The PDF collection may not be fully accessible, but alternative file formats are offered.

Full accessibility of some parts of the site may be more difficult to achieve due to the nature and complexity of the content; however, finding solutions to these issues are among our highest priorities.
