The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization, Dr. Kamil Idris, applauded the generosity of donors to the WIPO Voluntary Contribution Fund for Accredited Indigenous and Local Communities (“the Fund”) and urged member states and other potential donors to continue to offer their practical support by contributing to the Fund. This followed a review of the Fund this week by participants in the Intergovernmental Committee on Intellectual Property and Genetic Resources, Traditional Knowledge and Folklore (IGC) which is meeting in Geneva from July 3 to 12, 2007.
El Director General de la Organización Mundial de la Propiedad Intelectual, el Dr. Kamil Idris, aplaudió la generosidad de los donantes del Fondo de Contribuciones Voluntarias de la OMPI para las comunidades indígenas y locales acreditadas (''el Fondo'') e instó a los Estados miembros y otros donantes potenciales a seguir brindando un apoyo práctico mediante sus contribuciones al Fondo. Estas palabras fueron pronunciadas tras una presentación sobre el Fondo realizada esta semana por los participantes del Comité Intergubernamental sobre Propiedad Intelectual y Recursos Genéticos, Conocimientos Tradicionales y Folclore (el Comité Intergubernamental), reunido en Ginebra del 3 al 12 de julio de 2007.

Cet appel fait suite à une analyse du fonds réalisée cette semaine par les participants du Comité intergouvernemental de la propriété intellectuelle relative aux ressources génétiques, aux savoirs traditionnels et au folklore, qui se réunit à Genève du 3 au 12 juillet 2007.

Это связано с проведением на этой неделе обзора деятельности Фонда в рамках Международного комитета по интеллектуальной собственности, генетическим ресурсам, традиционным знаниям и фольклору (МКГР), сессия которого проходит 3-12 июля 2007 г. в Женеве.
كانت المقدرات الاقتصادية الهائلة للصناعات الإبداعية في صميم المحادثات التي جرت بين المدير العام للمنظمة العالمية للملكية الفكرية (الويبو)، الدكتور كامل إدريس، ورئيس جمهورية بلغاريا، السيد جورجي بارفانوف، في صوفيا يوم 5 يوليه/تموز 2007. وتمحورت المحادثات بوجه خاص حول حيوية قطاع الصناعات الإبداعية ومقدراته لإيجاد فرص العمل والنهوض بالتجارة وتكوين الثروات. وتركزت المحادثات أيضا على الأهمية الاستراتيجية للملكية الفكرية في تطوير قطاع الصناعات الإبداعية والاقتصاد الوطني بوجه عام.
The huge economic potential of the creative industries was at the heart of talks between the Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Dr. Kamil Idris and the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr. Georgi Parvanov, in Sofia on July 5, 2007. Discussions focused, in particular, on the dynamism of the creative industries sector and its potential to generate employment and promote trade and wealth creation. Discussions also underlined the strategic importance of intellectual property in the development of both the creative industries sector and the national economy in general.
El 5 de Julio de 2007, las conversaciones mantenidas en Sofía (Bulgaria) entre el Director General de la Organización Mundial de la Propiedad Intelectual (OMPI), Dr. Kamil Idris y el Presidente de la República de Bulgaria, Sr. Georgi Parvanov, se centraron en el enorme potencial económico de las industrias creativas. En particular, el debate se centró en el dinamismo del sector de las industrias creativas y en su potencial de creación de empleo, promoción del comercio y creación de riqueza. En esos debates se destacó asimismo la importancia estratégica de la propiedad intelectual en el desarrollo del sector de las industrias creativas y de la economía nacional en general.
Le potentiel économique considérable des industries de la création a été au centre des entretiens entre le directeur général de l'Organisation Mondiale de la Propriété Intellectuelle (OMPI), M. Kamil Idris, et le président de la République de Bulgarie, M. Georgi Parvanov, qui se sont tenus à Sofia le 5 juillet 2007. Ces entretiens ont été axés en particulier sur le dynamisme du secteur des industries de la création et des possibilités qu'il offre en termes de création d'emploi et de promotion du commerce et de la création de richesses. Les entretiens ont aussi mis en valeur l'importance stratégique de la propriété intellectuelle dans le développement du secteur des industries de la création et de l'économie nationale sur un plan général.
Огромный экономический потенциал творческих отраслей был основной темой переговоров между Генеральным директором Всемирной организации интеллектуальной собственности (ВОИС) д-ром Камилом Идрисом и президентом Республики Болгарии г-ном Георги Парвановым, которые состоялись в Софии 5 июля 2007 г. Обсуждения, в частности, были сосредоточены на динамизме развития сектора творческих отраслей и его потенциале в обеспечении занятости и содействии торговле и достижению благосостояния. В ходе обсуждения также была подчеркнута стратегическая важность интеллектуальной собственности в развитии сектора творческих отраслей и национальной экономики в целом.
اختُتمت الندوة الدولية بشأن البيانات الجغرافية بالتوصل إلى تحقيق تقدم في فهم كيفية استخدام البيانات الجغرافية استخداماً مثالياً من أجل زيادة قيمة المنتجات الزراعية. وقد نَظم هذه الندوة في بيجين كل من المنظمة العالمية للملكية الفكرية (الويبو) وإدارة الدولة لشؤون الصناعة والتجارة في جمهورية الصين الشعبية في الفترة الواقعة بين 26 و28 يونيه/حزيران 2007.
The International Symposium on Geographical Indications (GIs), jointly organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the State Administration for Industry and Commerce (SAIC) of the People's Republic of China in Beijing from June 26 to 28, 2007, concluded with a better understanding of how to maximize the use of geographical indications to add value to agricultural products. The Symposium brought together over 300 participants, representing national administrations, producers of GI products and specialists in the field of GIs in order to exchange information and experiences and to discuss some of the most salient issues in this area.
El Simposio Internacional sobre Indicaciones Geográficas, organizado conjuntamente por la Organización Mundial de la Propiedad Intelectual (OMPI) y la Administración Estatal de Industria y Comercio (SAIC) de China, celebrado en Beijing del 26 al 28 de junio de 2007, finalizó favoreciendo una mejor comprensión de la manera de aprovechar al máximo la utilización de indicaciones geográficas, aportando un valor añadido a los productos agrícolas. El Simposio congregó a más de 300 participantes, entre los que se encontraban representantes gubernamentales, fabricantes de productos protegidos por indicaciones geográficas y especialistas en la materia, con el fin de intercambiar información y experiencias y de examinar algunas de las cuestiones más destacadas en esta esfera.

قررت الدول الأعضاء في المنظمة العالمية للملكية الفكرية (الويبو) أنها بحاجة إلى مواصلة المناقشات حول مختلف جوانب المعاهدة المتعلقة بحماية هيئات البث قبل الانتقال إلى المؤتمر الدبلوماسي. وصدر هذا القرار في ختام الدورة الخاصة الثانية للجنة الدائمة المعنية بحق المؤلف والحقوق المجاورة التي عقدت في الفترة من 18 إلى 22 يونيه/حزيران 2007 بتكليف من الجمعية العامة للويبو في أكتوبر/تشرين الأول 2006.
Member states of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) have decided that further discussions were required on various aspects of a treaty on the protection of broadcasting organizations before moving to a diplomatic conference. The decision came at the conclusion of the second special session of the Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights (SCCR) from June 18 to 22, 2007 which had been mandated by the WIPO General Assembly in October 2006.
Los Estados miembros de la Organización Mundial de la Propiedad Intelectual (OMPI) han decidido que es preciso continuar examinando diversos aspectos del propuesto tratado sobre la protección de los derechos de los organismos de radiodifusión antes de tocar el tema de si se convoca o no una conferencia diplomática al respecto. La decisión fue tomada al final de la segunda sesión especial del Comité Permanente de Derecho de Autor y Derechos Conexos (SCCR), reunido del 18 al 22 de junio, órgano al que la Asamblea General de la OMPI le había confiado ese mandato en octubre de 2006.
