WIPO Director General Daren Tang visited the Vatican, seat of the Holy See, on October 15, 2026, where he met with His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Holy See.
The meeting focused on the role of AI in today’s IP ecosystem as well as the future of multilateralism.
They discussed multilateralism as a way to bring the world together even in uncertain times, with the Director General sharing how WIPO seeks to be an agency where Members can collaborate and cooperate, even when challenges arise.
