With two decades of experience at the highest levels of diplomacy and international cooperation, Tatiana Molcean has dedicated her career to building partnerships that advance sustainable development, economic integration and effective public governance. As Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), she leads one of the UN's principal regional commissions, supporting cooperation across Europe, North America and Central Asia on issues ranging from sustainable cities and transport to innovation, trade and environmental policy.
Before assuming her current role, Ms. Molcean served as the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Moldova to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, where she represented her country in multilateral negotiations involving the United Nations and the World Trade Organization. She held senior leadership positions within Moldova's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, including as State Secretary and Deputy Minister for Multilateral and Bilateral Cooperation, overseeing international partnerships and advancing the country's European integration agenda.
Ms. Molcean holds a law degree from Moldova State University and completed the Multilateral Diplomacy Programme at the Graduate Institute in Geneva.
