Lancé pour la première fois en 2026 par l’Organisation Mondiale de la Propriété Intellectuelle (OMPI), ce prix est décerné à des villes visionnaires, non pas pour ce qu’elles ont déjà accompli, mais pour les engagements audacieux qu’elles prennent en faveur de l’innovation et de la créativité au cours de l’année à venir.

Enabling institutions, teams, and communities to prepare for an uncertain future has become the defining focus of Elias Mouawad's work. As a public value innovation and foresight strategist, he works at the intersection of systems change, public policy, and innovation, supporting institutions and ecosystems in building the capabilities needed to anticipate emerging challenges and shape long-term, inclusive futures.

Over the past decade, Elias has designed and led foresight and transformation initiatives for governments, international organizations, philanthropies, and civil society across multiple

regions. His work has included collaborations with the United Nations and leading global foundations. He has contributed to influential initiatives including the Wales Protocol for Future Generations, the Peaceful Futures Manifesto, the Humanitarian Futures Anthology, and UNDP's Signals Spotlight, helping institutions integrate strategic foresight into policy and decision-making.

Driven by a passion for empowering communities to shape their own futures, Elias co-founded the Arab Futures Society, which advances futures thinking across the Middle East and North Africa. He is also a Fellow of the Next Generation Foresight Practitioners and collaborates with the School of International Futures (SOIF) and Reos Partners, supporting leaders to address complex societal challenges through collaboration, innovation, and long-term thinking.

His expertise brings a forward-looking perspective on how cities and communities can build resilience, foster innovation, and create inclusive pathways for sustainable development.
