注 This consolidated version of the Designs Rules, 1937 (published in Gazette Notice G.N. No. 1044/37) takes into account amendments introduced by L.N. 171/83, L.N. 291/92 and L.N. 66/99. This consolidated version contains provisions that have been incorporated and reprinted therein. This update was authorized by L.N. 86/1985 and L.N. 102/2001. Although originally made under the repealed Designs Act, 1937, these Rules remain applicable pursuant to the transitional provisions of the Patents and Designs Act, 2020. The Act provides that rules made under the repealed legislation continue to have effect as if made under the 2020 Act, except to the extent that they are inconsistent with that Act or until expressly repealed by new rules or another enactment.
