注 This consolidated version of the Protection of Geographical Indications Act, 2004 takes into account amendments up to the Protection of Geographical Indications (Amendment) Act, 2018 (Act No. 11 of 2018), which came into operation on 4 May 2018. The Amendment Act inserted the definitions of "Committee" and "good" in section 2, amended section 5 on homonymous geographical indications, inserted section 7A and the Schedule establishing the Geographical Indications Advisory Committee, and amended the registration and opposition procedures under section 10. The inclusion of the pages of this consolidation is authorized by L.N. 76/2024.
