WIPO’s PCT Basics webinar series is launching in Korean and Japanese, furthering WIPO’s commitment to making essential PCT knowledge accessible to innovators and patent professionals worldwide.
The Korean-language series debuts with Episode 1 on November 6, 2025 at 8h30 Geneva time, CET (16h30 Korea Standard Time, KST).
Episodes 1 and 2 of the Japanese series arrive on November 13, 2025 at 9h Geneva time, CET (17h Japan Standard Time, JST).
Expanding Global Reach
Introduced earlier this year in English, the PCT Basics webinar series provides a clear and practical introduction to the fundamentals of international patent applications under the PCT System. A Chinese-language edition followed on 25 September 2025.
The addition of Korean and Japanese versions of the webinar series provides audiences in East Asia and beyond with access to PCT knowledge in their native languages—helping to reduce linguistic barriers and encourage broader participation in the international patent system.
What to Expect
Each language edition unfolds over seven episodes covering core PCT themes, including patent-protection fundamentals, preparing and managing a PCT application, and navigating PCT timelines and procedures.
Each episode is led by a PCT expert and closes with a Q&A session, providing attendees with the opportunity to receive practical advice from WIPO’s in-house PCT team.
