Quality of Classification

The presentation tries to explore the vast field of quality related issues of the classification of patent documents and the associated data in different patent information databases. In providing several snapshots of placements of documents in the IPC it tries to identify the different aspects and dimensions of quality issues and their causes. Finally, potential options for improvement are suggested, like pooling of classification information, “trusted classifications”, etc.
