10,000+ Patent-related Terms Added to WIPO Pearl Terminology Database

The WIPO Pearl terminology database of scientific, technical and legal terminology spanning 10 languages has been updated and now contains over 280,000 terms, all validated by WIPO-PCT language experts. In addition, over 31,000 unique concepts (or 90%) are linked to other concepts in the database, and the concept maps displayed in our Concept Map Search show how they relate to one another. You can use WIPO Pearl to help understand the meaning of scientific, technical and legal terms, to find accurate equivalents for terms in other languages, and for example to find with one click any patent in WIPO’s PATENTSCOPE database that contains one or more of the terms you’re interested in, in any language. An API is also available for WIPO Pearl.
