The 16th edition of the annual Advanced International Certificate Course on Intellectual Property (IP) Asset Management for Business Success (AICC) recently concluded with the in-person phase in Seoul, Republic of Korea from November 3 to 6, 2025. The AICC is jointly organized by the WIPO Academy, the Korean Ministry of Intellectual Property (MOIP), the Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA), and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).
Out of a pool of 1,364 candidates, 33 experienced IP professionals, lawyers, entrepreneurs from small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), policymakers, academics, and students from 23 countries spanning five continents qualified for and completed the in-person phase.
What did the AICC course cover?
The AICC is an opportunity for students and professionals across private and public sectors to deepen their understanding and practical insights into developing effective strategies for IP management and utilization. The course includes a pre-qualifying online phase, which comprises the IP Panorama 2.0 course, the Advanced Course on IP Management (DL-450), and an IP essay.
The four-day in-person phase of the AICC covered core topics such as:
- Innovation management: A value articulation heuristic;
- Intellectual Capital and Value Chain Management;
- Analysis of participant-sourced intellectual capital challenges;
- WIPO Services and Systems for Entrepreneurs;
- IP and Emerging Technologies such as Artificial Intelligence;
- IP Valuation and Finance;
- IP Commercialization for Businesses;
- Patent Grading System and Business Application Cases;
- IP Litigation Tactics;
- IP Licensing Strategies and practical exercises on IP licensing negotiations.
