Lancement de la deuxième édition de la Clinique de gestion de la propriété intellectuelle « Nadjahi » au profit des PME de l’agri-business

On 14 September 2026, the Director of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Algeria Office and the Director General of the Algerian National Industrial Property Institute (INAPI) officially launched the second edition of the “Nadjahi” Intellectual Property Management Clinic together with the Director General of the Agency for the Utilization of Research Results and Technological Development (ANVREDET).

This latest edition focuses on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups in the agrifood sector. It forms part of the joint efforts by WIPO and INAPI to strengthen the strategic use of intellectual property (IP) as a driver of competitiveness, innovation and economic growth. The program is expected to benefit around 10 innovative companies selected from the sector.

The “Nadjahi” Clinic is one of WIPO’s flagship IP mentoring programs. It aims to support Algerian businesses in identifying, protecting, managing and valuing their intangible assets, thus enabling them to transform their innovations and expertise into sustainable competitive advantages.

Participants were given a deep dive on the role of IP in business development. Among other things, IP makes it possible to safeguard competitive advantages, increase visibility in highly competitive markets, reduce commercial and legal risks, facilitate access to funding and investors, and generate new opportunities for revenue and partnerships.

The businesses selected will benefit from a structured support program comprising collective workshops, one-to-one mentoring sessions with experts in IP and business development, as well as support in integrating IP into their business strategies and investor presentations.

The program is based on a practical approach designed to help businesses produce an IP strategy adapted to their own business model, growth ambitions and target markets. At the end of the program, beneficiaries will receive a personalized roadmap for developing their IP portfolio and utilizing it to drive their growth.

IP has become an essential strategic tool for innovative businesses. Beyond the protection of trademarks, patents and industrial designs, it helps to boost the value of businesses, facilitate their access to markets and funding, and support their national and international expansion.

Through this second edition, WIPO and INAPI aim to build on the success of the previous iteration and contribute to the emergence of Algerian businesses that are more innovative, more competitive and better able to capitalize on their IP to create value, attract investment and gain access to new markets.

The “Nadjahi” Clinic coincides with Algeria’s efforts to promote innovation, support entrepreneurship and bolster the impact of IP on sustainable economic development.
