IAP: Chile

Income eligibility criteria:

  • Individuals (Chilean citizens or Chile residents) who have an active Unique Tax Role Number (RUT) number and whose average monthly income in the last six months does not exceed the equivalent of 45 UF (unit of account).
  • Enterprises that, according to the Internal Revenue Service (SII), are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs); that is, those whose annual sales range between 2,400 UF and 100,000 UF.
  • Entities that, according to the SII, are microenterprises; that is, those that regularly engage in economic activity, whether artisanal or other, individually, as a family business, or as a company, and whose annual sales are less than 2,400 UF.

Invention eligibility criteria:

  • The application for the invention has not yet been filed.
  • The invention does not include non-patentable subject matter under Law 19.039 and is not part of the prior art.
  • The invention has strong commercial potential.

Documentation required to demonstrate eligibility:

  • Description of your invention, including the technical problem it solves, its target market, and social benefit (maximum 3 pages).
  • Drawings explaining the invention (optional).
  • Personal details, including RUT number, legal representative info for businesses, and a residence certificate for foreigners.
  • Sworn declaration of your socio-economic status along with supporting documents such as a social report, income certificate, or SII certificate.
