The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to notify the deposit by the Government of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, on May 19, 2026, of its instrument of accession to the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), done at Washington on June 19, 1970, amended on September 28, 1979, modified on February 3, 1984, and on October 3, 2001.
The instrument of accession contained the declaration that, pursuant to Article 64(5) of the PCT, the Commonwealth of The Bahamas does not consider itself bound by Article 59 of the PCT.
The PCT will enter into force, with respect to the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, on August 19, 2026.
