Ratification of the Stockholm Act (1967) was accompanied by the following declaration: "The Council of State of the Socialist Republic of Rumania considers that the maintenance of the state of dependence of certain territories to which reference is made in Article 24 of the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property revised at Stockholm on July 14, 1967, is not in accordance with the declaration on the granting of independence to colonial countries and peoples, adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations on December 14, 1960, by Resolution 1514 (XV), in which is stressed the need to bring an end rapidly and unconditionally to colonialism in all its forms and manifestations."
