La Organización Mundial de la Propiedad Intelectual (OMPI) organizará los días 1 y 2 de julio en Ginebra un Foro Interregional para examinar qué estrategias pueden adoptar las administraciones de propiedad intelectual (P.I.) de los países en desarrollo, los países menos adelantados (PMA) y determinados países de Europa y Asia, para atender las diversas necesidades y expectativas cada vez más amplias de los usuarios de la P.I. En el Foro se examinarán especialmente las medidas prácticas que cabe adoptar para mejorar y ampliar la gama de servicios de valor añadido que se ofrecen a todos los sectores interesados, incluido el público, establecer relaciones con la comunidad de usuarios de la P.I. y velar por que las administraciones de P.I. se hallen en mejores condiciones para fomentar los objetivos nacionales de desarrollo. El Foro tendrá lugar en la Sede de la OMPI y reunirá a directores de oficinas de P.I. y otros funcionarios de alto rango procedentes de países de todas las regiones y podrán tomar parte en él todos los Estados miembros de la OMPI que estén interesados.
L'Organisation Mondiale de la Propriété Intellectuelle (OMPI) accueillera, les 1er et 2 juillet 2008, un forum interrégional à Genève afin d'étudier les stratégies qui permettront aux administrations chargées de la propriété intellectuelle des pays en développement, des pays les moins avancés (PMA) et de certains pays d'Europe et d'Asie, de répondre aux besoins et aux attentes divers et grandissants de tous les utilisateurs de la propriété intellectuelle.
رحب المدير العام للمنظمة العالمية للملكية الفكرية (الويبو)، الدكتور كامل إدريس، بانضمام المنظمة الأفريقية للملكية الفكرية المعروفة بمختصرها الفرنسي (OAPI) إلى وثيقة جنيف لاتفاق لاهاي بشأن التسجيل الدولي للرسوم والنماذج الصناعية يوم 16 يونيه/حزيران 2008. ووثيقة جنيف هي إحدى المعاهدات الثلاث التي ترعى نظام لاهاي بشأن التسجيل الدولي للرسوم والنماذج الصناعية وتتيح للشركات في جميع البلدان المشاركة فيه وسيلة بسيطة وفعالة بتكلفة معقولة لجمع رسومها ونماذجها الصناعية في محفظة محمية والحفاظ عليها.
The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Dr. Kamil Idris, welcomed the accession by the African Intellectual Property Organization (known by its French acronym OAPI - Organisation africaine de la propriété intellectuelle) to the Geneva Act of the Hague Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Industrial Designs on June 16, 2008. The Geneva Act is one of the three treaties that govern the Hague System for the international registration of industrial designs and offer businesses in all participating countries a simple, affordable and efficient way of obtaining and maintaining their industrial designs portfolios.

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) will launch in September 2008 a pilot program to assist indigenous communities to document their own cultural traditions, archive this heritage for future generations, and safeguard their interest in authorizing use of their recordings and traditions by third parties.
