The PCT Basics series was first introduced in English earlier this year. With the availability of the series in Chinese, WIPO aims to make essential PCT knowledge more accessible to Chinese-speaking users worldwide.
Episode 1 will be presented live in Chinese on September 25, 2025 from 9h-10h (Geneva time).
As the series unfolds, episodes 2 through 7 will also be offered in Chinese.
What to expect
Designed for innovators, intellectual property professionals, and businesses interested in protecting their inventions abroad, the PCT Basics series provides a clear and practical introduction to the fundamentals of filing international patent applications under WIPO’s PCT System.
Episode 1 of the series covers:
- An overview of the basics of patent protection, including the principle of territoriality
- Key steps and timelines in the international patent application process
- How the PCT can support innovators and enterprises in protecting their inventions internationally
