Session 1: It all starts with an invention…
Introduction to the basics of patent protection, including the principle of territoriality. We’ll begin exploring some of the advantages of using the PCT to seek patent protection internationally.
Session 2: First steps in filing a PCT application
What is the PCT and how does it works? We’ll give you an overview of the process and key procedures and discuss what to consider before filing a PCT application
Session 3: Mastering PCT time limits
Time limits are critical in the patent protection process. In this session, we’ll explain the types of PCT time limits, how they are calculated and which are the ones you really need to look out for.
Session 4: Get on the e-filing highway
Join us for a hands-on demonstration of how to file a PCT application using ePCT, the filing software developed by WIPO and accepted by many national IP offices.
Session 5: Importance of priority claims and how to deal with them
In this episode, we will explain what’s behind the concept of claiming priority, and dive into making, correcting and restoring priority
Session 6: Receiving feedback on the substance of your substance
We’ll discuss the most important elements of the international search and preliminary examination reports you’ll receive during the “international phase” of the PCT, and address how they can help you determine which markets to target.
