Carbfix
Iceland – Environment / SME
Transcript
Fighting global warming means finding cost-effective ways to capture and store CO₂ — especially in heavy industries like cement and steel, which we still need to build a cleaner economy.
Carbfix captures emissions from these sectors and accelerates a natural process, turning CO₂ into stone in less than two years. By injecting the gas into volcanic rock formations, the carbon mineralizes and stays locked away permanently as bedrock, unlike other carbon capture and storage technologies where the CO2 remains in gas form.
With 26 patents across more than 15 countries — and a successful pilot in Iceland — Carbfix is now scaling its solution in places like Germany, the US, and India.
