WIPO Launches New IP Diagnostics Tool for the Fashion Industry

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is pleased to announce the launch of WIPO IP Diagnostics for the Fashion Industry, a new adaptation of our self-assessment tool designed to help small businesses, creators and other stakeholders in the fashion sector better understand and manage their intellectual property.

WIPO IP Diagnostics for the Fashion Industry is an industry-specific version of WIPO's IP Diagnostics tool. It is intended for businesses operating in the fashion sector, as well as individual creators, designers and service providers working with or for the industry.

The tool guides users through a series of questions covering key areas of their activities, including innovation and creativity, branding, collaboration with creative and innovative service providers, and business growth and expansion.

Based on the information provided, the tool automatically generates a customized report. The report identifies potential IP assets and provides preliminary guidance on how these assets may contribute to business value, as well as potential risks and opportunities that may affect business strategy.

The fashion industry relies heavily on creativity, innovation, distinctive designs and brands, as well as collaborations across a wide range of creative and business activities. Understanding the intellectual property associated with these assets can help businesses make more informed decisions as they develop, collaborate and expand.

WIPO invites stakeholders across the fashion industry to take advantage of this new tool and use it to better identify, protect, manage and leverage their intellectual property assets.
