A global technical incident affecting Amazon Web Services (AWS) and its CloudFront network is currently disrupting websites and online services worldwide. As a result, eHague and related services may be temporarily unavailable or intermittent. Normal service will be restored as soon as the underlying issue is resolved by the provider.
Users should be reassured that filing dates and time limits will be safeguarded. Rule 5(1) of the Common Regulations provides for excuse of delay in meeting a time limit where the failure was due to force majeure, including the failure of electronic communication services beyond the control of the interested party.
The International Bureau will treat favorably any request made under Rule 5(1) citing the outage that began on July 16, 2026 and, in accordance with Rule 5(2), will waive the submission of evidence.
