Eurasian Patent Organization Joins the Hague System

The Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO) has joined the Hague System, providing designers and businesses in the Eurasian region with a faster and more cost-effective route to international design protection. The accession allows applicants to seek protection for designs across the eight EAPO Member States and in the other Contracting Parties to the Geneva Act of the Hague Agreement through a single international application.

The Eurasian Patent Organization is the regional intergovernmental organization responsible for administering the Eurasian patent system. It provides centralized procedures for obtaining and managing intellectual property rights across its Member States: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Russian Federation, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

EAPO deposited its instrument of accession to the Geneva Act of the Hague Agreement on July 10, 2026. It became the third regional intergovernmental organization to join the Hague System, the 78th Contracting Party to the Geneva Act, and the 84th member of the Hague Union.

The Geneva Act will enter into force with respect to EAPO on October 10, 2026.
