Strengthening IP administration through the Cloud-Native IPAS 4.0 in ARIPO member States

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), in cooperation with the Zanzibar Business and Property Registration Agency (BPRA) organized the WIPO Regional IPAS Training workshop on IPAS 4.0 cloud native for ARIPO member states in Zanzibar, Untied Republic of Tanzania, with support from Funds-In-Trust Japan Industrial Property Global (FIT/Japan IP Global).

The WIPO Regional IPAS Training workshop on IPAS 4.0 cloud native for ARIPO member states was held in Zanzibar, Untied Republic of Tanzania from November 11 to 15, 2024.

The workshop focused on processing, registration, and maintenance of IP through the cloud-native IPAS 4.0, highlighting its functionality, features, and the necessary preparations for cloud transformation. Additionally, it covered delivery and support services essential for the full deployment and proper operation of the system on the cloud. The event welcomed 45 participants from ARIPO member states, representing diverse backgrounds and varying levels of expertise in IP.

Using a dedicated test environment, the workshop was conducted as a hands-on training session. Participants had the opportunity to follow live demonstrations and actively engage with IPAS 4.0’s functionalities and features. Participants were able to gain practical experience in processing, searching, reporting, and utilizing additional modules, including the Madrid Module. The hybrid model enabled remote and on-site support, facilitating knowledge transfer.
