备注 Article 34 entitle 'Entry into force' of the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/34 of 17 October 2018 states: 'This Regulation shall enter into force on the third day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.'.
This Regulation was published on January 11, 2019, and entered into force on January 14, 2019.

The notification by the European Union to the WTO under Article 63.2 of TRIPS states:
'The text includes the implementing rules of Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013 (circulated to Members in document IP/N/1/EU/G/4) for the part which concerns designations of origin and geographical indications in the wine sector. In particular the text concerns: applications for protection (in EU and in Third countries, joint applications, single document, geographical area, scrutiny procedure); the objection procedure (procedural rules); amendments to product specifications (requirements for application and communication of amendments); the register of protected names, cancellation of protection, use of symbols, checks (authorities responsible for verifying compliance with the product specification, actions to prevent unlawful use of names, communications between the Commission and the Member States and the Third countries, annual verification, testing); communications, publication and final provisions; templates (in Annexes).'
