Section 2
Interpretation
In this Notice-
"Chinese Patent Office" means the office established under the laws of the People's Republic of China for the granting of patents for inventions;
"European Patent Convention" means the Convention on the Grant of European Patents done at Munich on 5 October 1973;
"European Patent Office" means the office of that name of the European Patent Organization established by the European Patent Convention;
"United Kingdom Patent Office" means the office established under the laws of the United Kingdom for the granting of patents for inventions.

Designation of patent offices
The following patent offices are designated under section 8 of the Ordinance-
Chinese Patent Office
European Patent Office, in respect of patents granted under the European Patent Convention designating the United Kingdom
United Kingdom Patent Office
