THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC

WHEREBY:

The Congress of the Republic has passed the following Law:

Has passed the following Law:

LAW AMENDING ARTICLES 188 AND 189 OF COPYRIGHT LAW (LEGISLATIVE DECREE No. 822)

Sole Article.- Purpose of the Law Articles 188 and 189 of Legislative Decree No. 882, Copyright Law, are hereby amended as follows:

Article 188.- The Copyright Office may, either together or individually, apply the following sanctions:

(a) warning. (b) fine of a maximum of 180 tax units. (c) redress of the omissions (d) temporary closure of the establishment for up to a maximum of 90 days. (e) definitive closure of the establishment. (f) seizure or definitive confiscation. (g) publication of the resolution at the expense of the infringer.

Article 189.- In the event of a repeat offense, considered as repeating an act of the same nature within two years, a fine of double the amount may be levied and may be successive and unlimited, without prejudice to applying other sanctions as established under Article 188 of the present Law.”

The President of the Republic is hereby informed of its promulgation.
