PATENTS (AMENDMENT) ACT 2006 (SECTION 41) (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER 2010
I, BATT O’KEEFFE, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Innovation, in exer­ cise of the powers conferred on me by section 51(2) of the Patents (Amendment) Act 2006 (No. 31 of 2006) (as adapted by the Enterprise, Trade and Employment (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2010 (S.I. No. 185 of 2010)), hereby order as follows:
1. This Order may be cited as the Patents (Amendment) Act 2006 (Section
41) (Commencement) Order 2010.
2. The 4th day of October 2010 is appointed as the day on which section 41 of the Patents (Amendment) Act 2006 (No. 31 of 2006) comes into operation.

This Order brings Section 41 of the Patents (Amendment) Act, 2006 into operation. Section 41 amended Section 29 of the Trade Marks Act, 1996 by extending the list of Registerable Transactions. (The rules governing entry in the Register of Trade Marks of such registrations are amended by the Trade Marks (Amendment) Rules, 2010).
