to amend the Tobacco Control Act 2009 to provide for a later commencement date of the provisions relating to labelling requirements for tobacco product packaging

REPUBLIC OF NAURU TOBACCO CONTROL (AMENDMENT) ACT 2009

An Act to amend the Tobacco Control Act 2009 to provide for a later commencement date of the provisions relating to labelling requirements for tobacco product packaging (Certified: 28 August 2009)

Enacted by the Parliament of Nauru as follows:

Short title and commencement

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Tobacco Control (Amendment) Act 2009.

(2) This Act commences on the date on which it receives the certificate of the Speaker.

Principal Act

2. The Tobacco Control Act 2009 is the principal Act.

Amendment to Schedule 1 of the principal Act

3. The principal Act is amended by deleting from Schedule 1, in the item that appears immediately opposite Section 6 in the table, the words 6 monthsand replacing them with the words ’12 months’.
